Dr. Yoon is a highly respected, fellowship-trained specialist in Oculoplastics Surgery with over ten years of clinical experience in the Los Angeles area. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University and completed medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine with academic distinction. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Tufts-New England Eye Center in Boston, and his fellowship in Oculofacial, Plastic, and Orbital Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. He has published over twenty papers and textbook chapters in the field of oculoplastics and participates in post-graduate teaching at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, U.C. Irvine Medical Center.
Dr. Yoon has spent time in Seoul, South Korea as an International Fellow in ophthalmic plastic surgery at Samsung Medical Center, Korea University, and the Myoung Eye Plastic Surgery Clinic, focusing on Asian eyelid surgery and aesthetics. He also spent time there gaining mastery in endoscopic tear duct surgeries.
Dr. Yoon has traveled on ophthalmic medical missions in Nakhon Phanom and Sakon Nakhon in northeastern Thailand. Partnering with Khon Kaen University, Dr. Yoon was able to participate in a high-volume mobile cataract camp serving patients in the poorest region of Thailand. Working with an amazing group of people in caring for an underserved population was an extraordinary experience for Dr. Yoon.
Dr. Yoon has been recognized by Super Doctors magazine as one of Southern California Rising Stars in 2020, an honor awarded to approximately 2.5 percent of physicians within South California.
