IRIS Registration

A new advance in laser technology, called iris registration, allows Dr. Kandavel to provide our patients with the highest level of accuracy in laser vision correction. Iris registration utilizes a scanning and tracking technology similar to that used in advanced missile guidance systems. This technology creates a detailed map of the patient’s iris before surgery and then allows the laser to precisely match any iris movement or rotation that may occur during treatment. Since the eye always moves slightly during surgery, this new technology provides a significant benefit, especially in cases of high astigmatism.
