In August of 2020, Dr. Kandavel became one of the first doctors in California to implant the newest extended depth of focus IOL for cataract surgery, the Vivity IOL. He went on to complete clinical research on the lens prior to its widespread release and therefore has the most experience with these types of specialty lenses in the Los Angeles area.
Ongoing research with the Vivity Lens and cataract surgery techniques and technology has led to multiple publications and innovations. Dr Kandavel continues his efforts to further medical knowledge with ongoing research. He has now led and authored multiple investigator initiated trials. Only the most trusted surgeons in the country are awarded these coveted research grants.
